Slide Photography Participants are Required to Submit:
(please review carefully)
1) A portfolio of ten slides as follows:
- Five images from one project.
- Five images showing the full range of the participant's work and interest.
2) Participants are also required to submit one contact sheet as follows:
A 8.5 x 11 inch photo-quality ink-jet print of 24 thumbnails (each one with a max. dimension of 2 inches) of images that supplement the main folio submissions. This images on this sheet should give the jurors some extra indication of the applicant's creative / photographic interests.
3) Participants also need to complete a Personal Information Form (PIF) and the Photography Portfolio Form detailing information about their art work. See Mailing Requirements.
The portfolio should demonstrate original thinking, an artistic commitment and a willingness to take creative risks. While it is expected that participants will consult with their teachers in the selection of portfolio material, participants are urged to submit work they feel best represents their creative interests.
Work need not be done during the current year, but must be original and can be done in or out of school. Work that suggests visual plagarism (i.e., a direct copy of another artist's work) will NOT be accepted.

Verify that your images can be viewed using a light box and loupe.

Do not submit slides that are too dark, too light, out of focus or otherwise difficult to view. If your images cannot be viewed, your materials will be disqualified. Your registration fee is not refundable.

Note: Glass mounted slides will not be accepted.
A. Place a dot (•) on the lower left hand corner on the front of the slide.
B. Slides should be numbered in the upper left-hand corner in the sequence in which you wish them to be viewed with the 5 related works occupying the first five slots of your slide sheet.
C. Following each slide number should be your 8 digit ARTS ID# followed by your discipline category code of 450. Example: 08009999/450
NOTE: Slides will not be returned. Participants should keep copies of all materials submitted. NFAA is not responsible for materials lost or damaged in the mail. |
